This study examined the relationship between risk management and corporate resilience in the energy sector in Rivers State, Nigeria. The problem of the research is the inability of the energy sector in Rivers State to respond to regular systematic disruptions in order to sustain regular operations. In solving this problem in course of this research, four research questions and four research hypotheses were asked and formulated respectively. Risk management was operationalized using two key dimensions: operational risk control and regulatory compliance, while corporate resilience was measured through adaptive capacity and robustness. The population comprised of 198 managerial staff of energy sector in Rivers State. The study was a census study and a total of 198 copies of questionnaire were distributed, and 172 valid responses were analyzed, using Spearman’s rank-order correlation coefficient statistical tool. The findings revealed significant and positive relationships between all dimensions of the independent and measures of the dependent variables. Specifically, operational risk control was strongly associated with both adaptive capacity and robustness. Similarly, regulatory compliance showed a strong positive correlation with adaptive capacity and robustness. From the findings, it was concluded that effective risk management significantly contributes to enhancing corporate resilience in the energy sector. The study recommends that energy firms should institutionalize structured risk control systems and embed regulatory compliance into strategic planning to improve resilience outcomes in order to remain sustainable in the industry.
