Artificial Intelligence Adoption and Strategic Decision-Making in Modern Organisations

ABSTRACT

Poor strategic decision making has caused modern organisations to be thrown out of the market as a result inaccurate and bias decisions, which describes the dangers of reliance on unbalanced data, which can result in poor decision-making judgment. The focus of this study is survey the nexus between artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and strategic decision-making in modern organisations. A cross-sectional survey research approach was used in the study. The population consists of employees and managers working in modern organisations, specifically, information technologies firms in Port Harcourt. They are 516 employees and managers of IT companies in Port Harcourt. Taro Yamen was employed to get 225 employees and managers of IT companies in Port Harcourt. Primary data is collected directly from respondents using structured questionnaire. 225 copies of questionnaire were administered to managers, IT professionals, data analysts, and employees involved in decision-making processes within their organisations and 221 valid responses were obtained, which represents a high response rate suitable for statistical analysis. Multiple analysis was employed to test hypotheses. The findings reveal that AI adoption significantly improves decision quality, speed, and strategic forecasting capabilities. The study concluded that modern organisations that effectively adopts AI technologies into their decision-making processes achieve greater efficiency, better risk management, and improved competitive positioning. Modern organisations should invest in advanced technological infrastructure that supports the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.
