The growth of electronic commerce has led to widespread adoption of digital payment systems, offering customers greater convenience and efficiency. However, this shift has also exposed e-tailing firms and their customers to increasing cybersecurity threats. This study investigates the impact of cybersecurity threats on customer digital payments in e-tailing firms in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. It highlights key threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and man-in-the-middle attacks, while also examining the role of trust, usability, and payment performance in shaping customer experiences. A descriptive research design was adopted, with data collected from 200 customers of selected e-tailing firms using structured questionnaires and analyzed through statistical methods. The findings indicate that cybersecurity threats significantly influence customer trust and willingness to adopt digital payments. The study concludes that enhancing security, improving usability, and ensuring reliable payment performance are critical for sustaining customer confidence and promoting growth in Nigeria’s e-tailing sector.
